As the end of my Senior year of high school quickly draws near, there's only one thing I can say that seems to fit my sentiment at the moment...
GOOD RIDDANCE.
Holy crap, High School SUCKED. I'm so glad it's finally going to be done with!! I can't wait to move on to the bigger and better things in life.
If people haven't figured it out yet, I'm going to Tulane University next year, which I'm absolutely thrilled about. I have orientation in June, then I move in in August.
I applied for admission to the Residential College, and I'll find out around May 15th. Wish me luck! I hope I get in!
The people I've spoken to who are going to be my classmates have all been absolutely lovely, and I can't wait to meet them all in person when school starts.
College just seems like such a healthy environment already. When I walked onto the campus at Tulane, I felt safe and at peace and...home. It was new for me, and I just fell in love with it. How could I not end up there?
Alright, now that I sound like a sappy old woman (haha), onto the important crap.
I know I haven't updated for a while, shame on me, I've just been preoccupied with the upcoming AP exams. I'm taking three. Gov, Lit, and Bio. Once those are done with, more things will be put up.
After college starts, I don't know how much work I'll be doing, but I know I might have some more...interesting pieces coming in the future.
Tulane offers GLASS BLOWING as a course!!! All the glass used in the course is recycled, so all the glass used by people in the school is then used again by the art program (after being sanitized of course >_> ). How cool is that? GLASS BLOWING. I can't wait to try it out .
I think it's just going to be nice to leave all the crap that's happened in the past behind me, and start anew in a new school, in a new city, in a new county, in a new state, in a new timezone, with a bunch of new people.

UPDATE - June 25th

Graduation rehearsal today! Prom tomorrow! Graduation sunday! THEN HOLY CRAP-A-DOODLES I'm done with High School FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Ok--so, time for logic v. reality! Logic: Avoid the cats the week before prom so that I don't get all scratched up and bloody and look like I got attacked by a hobo with a machete. Reality: Last night my cat got caught on the cable to my tablet, and while I tried to help him get loose, he nailed my leg, and I now have two parallel gashes running around my mid-calf.
At least my dress will cover it, but it'll be hard as hell to explain at the "after prom" I'm going to.
AWKWARD.
I met an awesome girl to room with We have very similar political and religious views. It's great. I won't have to worry about being converted or told I'm going to hell (it's happened *cough*friend's grandma*cough*)! I'm taking Japanese 101, Cellular Biology 101, Chemistry 101 w/ Lab, Mythology, and a TIDES course cause it's mandatory. Go my schedule, haha. My roomie is taking Japanese with me, and I've met a few other people who will also be taking it, but havent made schedules yet--they're made at orientation, which was fun. I got my student ID, and I look...well..sunburned. CAUSE I'M PALE. SPF10,824,230,895,075,173,983,805, GO!
Wow, this is actually going on to be a pretty big update. YAY for input!
I have a job starting on Monday. I'll be working in my county's office of public health doing some lab work or something. I'll likely be testing the county's water supply for disease and such. It's located in the same complex as the crime lab, so it's really setting me up to meet and make connections with the people there and with the government so that I can have *preferred* selection when applying for a job...if I come back to New York. I may or may not. NOLA might just captivate me.
I didn't get into Glassblowing--course was full. So was photography...BUT I'm in the archery club!
Ok, that's enough for now. I have to go make myself look less tired before I go to rehearsal. Three cheers for caffeine!
